Selene was founded in 2013 by John Connor and Shonagh Lyons. Having previously worked together in Gate XIII, where Shonagh performed vocals on one track of their 2012 EP Once Upon a Time and acted as Lead vocalist in the following live shows, They decided to start a band playing Symphonic Metal that would fit well in a live
