Devon Baldwin is a lovely and talented singer from San Francisco, CA. The name might be familiar as she’s worked with G-Eazy (“Let’s Get Lost”) and Skizzy Mars (“Down”) in the last year. Devon was also a contestant on American Idol in 2011. Before she heads out on tour later this month, she decided to supply her fans with three new records. For anybody new, this is more than a perfect time to jump into her music.
Production is handled by JMSN (whom she’s touring with), Christoph Andersson, 4e and Majors. The sole guest feature comes on “Knock You Down” from Skizzy Mars. Other than that, this is a perfect representation of what Devon’s solo work feels like. It’s hard to see how she didn’t win American Idol, but then again she’s a unique voice and sound that maybe didn’t fit with that demographic. Regardless, success is destined for her.
