Porto was brought to life in 2006 as the resulting mix of the diverse musical influences of Brazilian drummer and composer Richard Ribeiro, whose work can also be checked out in the music of Sp Underground, Debate, Diagonal, Labirinto, among other bands from the Sao Paulo scene.
In Porto's debut EP, fora de hora, recorded in 2008 with guitarrist Renato Ribeiro, Richard plays the drums and the metallophone at the same time, besides pre-programmed electronic beats and bases.
